Well friends…Tony and I have finally made a decision. There will be no Corpus Christi AutoRama. We had one scheduled for February 2012, but it seems we can't get enough local people interested in showing their vehicles or in being vendors, which in turn brings in friends, family and customers as attendees to the show.
Therefore, we feel we can no longer put on a show that costs us and our sponsors so much money, with nothing in return. We love Corpus and hate to leave, but we have no choice. Maybe a few years down the road we might try it again, if we can get some additional sponsorship and feel like Corpus is ready and supportive. Never say never.
We do want to thank Gordon Leland of Alamo Hot Rod Parts and Larry and Brandon at A&E Classis Cars for their sponsorship support and for having the same excitement and vision for the show that we had. Thanks also to the Corpus Christi Corvette Club for their support and help at the 2011 AutoRama. They are a great bunch of guys and gals.
A quick thanks also to the gang at the AmericanBank Center. I couldn't ask for a nicer and easier bunch of people to work with. Also, the staff at the Omni, who went out of their way to earn our business.
We apologize to all of the vendors that had already signed up for the show and hope this doesn't put too much of a kink in your schedule and we do appreciate your support as well.
To the exhibitors…we sincerely apologize. Many, many thanks to those who showed at the Corpus AutoRama for the past two years and made it a really, really great show. You are truly good friends and we wish you nothing but good luck on the circuit. Stay safe in your travels and maybe we will see you down the road.
